Our subscriptions are designed to spread the word among retail investors of what is happening across the country, in neighborhoods, towns and cities many of us will never see. We look to identify opportunities for stock appreciation and threats to our common wealth that can be used as guidance by individual retail investors. We maintain the highest standards of professional analysis, absolute avoidance of conflict of interest through full disclosure of our holdings and that of our analysts, and a cynical eye on the activities of investment banks, brokers, the general power structure and all those whose primary interest is to divert investor dollars into their own pockets.
UAE is a watchdog for retail investors – calling out the monied interests more concerned with their personal well being than the well being of shareholders or the nation in general. We advocate for strong corporate governance, full disclosure of corporate officer conflicts and for more robust, effective governmental regulation of Wall Street and investment offerings. We offer sharp, often biting, commentary on the good (where we can find it) and the evil (which we find everywhere) in the investment communities while lobbying our lawmakers to return some sanity to the investment world.
We work to improve investor awareness of markets and market operations, providing links to significant academic and professional research, including summarizing some of that work in our monthly publication. We seek to dispel myths about investing, debunk the hypesters and extol truth tellers. We are information and data driven – looking to validate claims, expose nonsense and otherwise tell the story as the numbers tell the story, factually, accurately and completely.
Finally, we look to restore the once-honored profession of “Security Analyst” to something markedly above “pond scum”, “slimeball”, or “Wall Street Thief in Pin Striped Suit”. We advocate for strict separation of investment banks from commercial banking, insurance and other financial activities, see the destruction of the Chinese Wall as an inevitable consequence of “deregulation” in that industry, and are champions of restoring Glass-Steagall as the preeminent regulatory concept in the industry.
